Homeschool Online - Introducing The Accidental Homeschooler
Accidental homeschooler is a unique term that is fairly new in the homeschool circle. Coined by Time4Learning, it’s a principal that implies here is a class of homschooler who got into homeschooling not by deliberate choice but by accident. I prefer to think of it as fate.
Accidental homeschoolers seem to migrate to homeschooling out of necessity. Either because their child meets with socialization or curriculum-based challenges at public school that the school system can’t seem to fix, accidental homeschoolers tend to “take matters into their own hands” and start schooling at home to meet the specific individual needs of their child. Some of these children are special needs or gifted children. Others are just normal children who don’t fit in for one reaason or another or the school system can’t seem to get them involved in the learning process. Many parents choose homeschool for religious or moral reasons.
Regardless of your reason for considering homeschool, if you are thinking about homeschooling your children, there is no better resource than the Internet, a worldwide library with more information than you can shake a stick at on every topic under the sun, including homeschooling. There is no better time than today for homeschooling and thanks to the Internet the opportunities are endless.
