George Barna conducted a survey in 2000-2001 and came up with these statistics:
- 41% of homeschoolers are white
- 29.5% are black
- 29.5% are Asian
- Predominantly live in the Mid-Atlantic, South-Atlantic, and Pacific states
- 91% consider themselves Christian
- 39% less likely to graduate from college
- 21% more likely to be married
- 28% less likely to get a divorce
- Homeschoolers earn 10% less than the national average income
- 33% of homeschoolers do so for religious reasons
- 30% believe public schools provide a poor learning environment
- 14% objected to public school curricula
- 11% believed their children were not being challenged by public schools
- 9% homeschooled for moral reasons
