Homeschooling - Is It The Last Hope For Capitalism?
I was thinking about this concept earlier today and thought that I would post it here. With recent news stories about public school teachers actively teaching against capitalism in favor of socialism views, is homeschooling truly the last hope for capitalism in the education system?
As many of you may have heard already, there was a news report out of the Seattle area about elementary school teachers who banned the playing of legos in their classroom because the kids were using concepts that promoted capitalism. After a one month break from playing with legos, the kids were again allowed to play with legos as long as socialism was favored in the new lego world.
When I first heard about this story, it concerned me greatly because it was just one of several stories that I had heard recently where socialism and communism appeared to actively be taught in our public schools. Of course, the teachers are not using the words “socialism” and “communism” outright. It is the concepts and principles of these economic systems that are being presented as virtuous and good.
So, my question is two fold. When did capitalism become such a bad thing in the public school system and is homeschooling the last hope for the teaching of capitalism? My fear is that it is. I would love to hear your comments.
You may be right - One of the advantages of homeschooling is that you can do it YOUR way.
