Homeschooling Online - Homeschooled Students Do Better On Tests
Homeschooled students scored an average of 22.6 on the ACT in 2003 compared to 20.9 for public school students. That should go a long way to increasing respect levels for homeschooled children.
Homeschoolers as a whole do better on most measures of academic standing and learning progress than public school students. Whether we’re talking about ACT scores, SAT scores or other academic tests, homeschool students routinely do better. By the same token, the winners of several math, geography and spelling bees have all been homeschooled students.
Homeschooling tends to build an environment of nurture and independence. Children who develop in such environments find it easier to study on their own and achieve great results doing so. That’s not to say that your child will find automatic success through homeschooling, but the odds are greatly in your favor.
