Homeschooling Online - Parental Responsibility
Parents have an inherent responsibility to see that their children receive the best education possible. It is not enough that one send one’s children to school, let alone the state-sponsored school that is the popular choice. In many cases, that education is not the best choice for parents; yet, so many parents send their children to public schools without thinking of the long-term consequences.
All through history parents, and primarily parents, were responsible for their children’s education. Other members of a community might have been involved but only by permission of the parents. Today’s institutional public school system takes the parental control out of the hands of the parent and places it at the mercy of some anonymous adminstrator.
If you are concerned that your child may not get the best education possible through the public school system, I’d encorage you to seek an alternative. There are plenty of ways to educate your child at home or through a homeschool co-op in your area. I highly recommend one of these options.
